ViewSonic ViewPad10 ViewSonic launches the ViewPad tablet with dual boot capability at laptopshop.co.ukVisual-technology company, ViewSonic has weighed in with a new tablet device, the 10 inch View Pad 10Pro, which will be able to dual-boot both Windows 7 and Android 2.2.

The ViewPad will be released alongside the V350 dual-SIM smartphone, which will allow users to operate different accounts and phone numbers for personal and business usage.

The double release is the product of research by ViewSonic into what users want from tablet and smartphone devices; the answer they found was convergence and devices that can be equally used for business and personal use.

The ViewPad is powered by an Intel Oak Trail processor chip, supporting Flash 10.1. The device boasts a 1024 x 600 capacitive touchscreen with an LED backlight, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and six hours of battery life.

Other features include a 5 mega pixel camera with auto-focus, Micro-SD expansion and GPS navigation.

ViewSonic’s European product marketing manager, Derek Wright believes that the dual-boot feature of the ViewPad will make it more than a match for its competition in the market:

“Last month, Deloitte predicted in its annual sector forecast that UK companies will buy more than 10 million tablet devices in 2011,” Wright said. “ViewSonic is well placed to capitalise on this market and offers the best of both worlds from one device.”

ViewSonic will be conducting demonstrations of the ViewPad at next week’s Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona.
