The demonstration took place at the Mobile World congress event in Barcelona and gave us a sneak peek at some of the capabilities of the new device.

HTC’s video showcases the Flyer’s stylus feature, which allows users to – among other things – scribble on web pages in the browser to bookmark them for later viewing. A video of the demonstration is available to view via the link at the bottom of this page.

The Flyer device features a 7 inch TFT screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, 32 GB of RAM, 1 GB of SD memory, a 1.3 mega pixel front-facing camera for video calls and a 5 mega pixel camera in the rear.

The tablet will also support playback for .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, .mp3, .wav and .wma files as well as offering recording facilities for .amr, .aac, .3gp, .3g2, .mp4 and .wmv files. The media friendly tablet will weigh 415 grams including battery.

HTC’s Flyer tablet will be available in Britain sometime in the second quarter of 2011. HTC have so far been quiet on pricing for the tablet although internet speculators have placed it somewhere between £450 and £650.
