HP TouchPad HP’s 10.1 inch TouchPad demo impresses at MWC at laptopshop.co.uk The demo of HP’s new TouchPad tablet at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona has left a favourable impression on those in attendance.

As well as a live demo – which can be viewed by clicking the link at the bottom of the page – HP’s representatives let the amassed crowd of tech journos and onlookers have a play around and get to grips with the device themselves.

The feedback from these demonstration sessions was overwhelmingly positive, with lucky demo participants describing how easy the device was to use and how stunning it was visually.

Tech-writer, Michael Oryl did raise the concern that “really fast access to the main menu” was lacking, but said that he was “willing to take that in light of the great multi-tasking and notification system”.

The TouchPad will pack a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor as well as an option of 32GB of RAM. The chunky bezel reduces the screen size to 9.7 inches but houses a 1.3 mega pixel camera for video calling and stereo-speakers.

Connectivity wise, the TouchPad will be 802.11 b/g/n WiFi compatible on release, with a 3G model will following. Bluetooth, a SIM-card slot and a USB port are also built into the device.

The HP TouchPad will be available for purchase in the UK from September.
