Rumours fly about new HTC tablet
There are rumours that HTC are preparing for the release of their new Flyer tablet.
Reports emanating from the smartphone specialists hint that the new device will support Google’s Gingerbread Android v2.3 as standard, with the Honeycomb v3.0 as an optional upgrade.
The tablet will also feature a 7.0 inch touchscreen, but further than this the trail runs cold. Details for this device are understandably thin on the ground.
Judging by rumour mill chatter, HTC are lining up a stateside release in March 2011, with three follow up devices landing in June. There are as yet no rumours – even spurious ones – regarding a UK release date.
These follow up devices could include a 10 inch version, with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Previous rumours surrounding HTC tablets have hinted that this model is in the pipeline.
Back in December, it was announced that HTC had registered “Scribe” as a trademark; it seems fairly likely that this will be the name of one of the other tablet devices.
Other recent rumours regarding HTC tablets described a device powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and with 2GB of internal memory. Again, this is unconfirmed.
