A leaked ‘Tablet Roadmap’ from Dell has revealed some of the company’s plans for the coming year.

The roadmap – picked up by Android Central – outlines plans for an April release of a new 10 inch tablet supporting Google’s Android 3.0 Honeycomb as well as a similarly sized tablet running Windows 7, and a whole host of other devices.

The Honeycomb tablet – codenamed Gallo – will be joined later in the year by a smaller, 7 inch tablet, also running Honeycomb, named “Sterling”. There has been some speculation into whether this will simply be the Dell Streak with an updated OS, although the new name suggests otherwise.

The Windows 7 tablet is referred to in the roadmap as “Rosemount”, and boasts a 1366 x 768 pixel display. This device is due for release sometime in the first half of 2011.

Dell plan to keep the pressure on throughout the year with new 5 and 10 inch Honeycomb tablets – including one with handwriting recognition – pencilled in for release in the fourth quarter of 2011. Also due for release around this time is the Peju; a 10 inch tablet running Windows 7.

A word of caution, however; the leaked roadmap bears a tagline warning us that it is for “general planning purposes only and does not represent a commitment by Dell”. Although the fact that the devices are in this stage of the planning procedure does imply that their releases are a probability, if not a nailed on certainty.
