Samsung: Galaxy Tab return rate under 2%
Samsung has hit back at claims that that return rates of its Galaxy Tab slate were as high as 16 per cent in the US.
The company say its own data shows just fewer than two per cent of Samsung Galaxy Tab’s sold in the US were sent back.
The claim appeared on a Korean blog following reports that far more people were returning the Samsung device than its Apple rival the iPad.
Tech Radar quotes the statement as reading: “The return rate of the Galaxy Tab in the US as claimed by a North American market research firm is incorrect. According to Samsung Electronics Mobile Communications Business the return rate is below 2 percent.”
Earlier this week Samsung had to refute its own claims that two million of the tablets have been sold, saying that these were sales to retail partners not consumers.
And a wrong translation also left Samsung red faced recently – Samsung executive Lee Young was quoted as saying sales of the tablet were “quite small” when he actually said “quite smooth”.
