LG G-Slate update: The tablet will be available with 3D glasses
A short while ago we announced the 3D capabilities of the new LG G-Slate tablet; now LG have updated us with the information that they will be offering 3D glasses in the bundle.
T-Mobile will be carrying the tablet when hits shelves this year, along with the red and blue tinted glasses required to view 3D playback and shoot 3D video.
As previously reported, the device will display 3D images on its 8.9 inch, 1280 x 720 resolution screen and will feature a HDMI output and 5 mega-pixel camera, bringing the camera count up to 3 in total.
The G-Slate will also be one of the first tablets to run the long awaited Android v3.0 – known as Honeycomb – an operating system that is expected to take the tablet market by storm.
There are hopes that as processors become more and more powerful these kind of 3D tablet devices will become more common. This will provide a much needed boost to the flagging home 3D market, as sales of 3D TVs fail to live up to the hype drummed up by the huge box office receipts of 3D movies.
T-Mobile is leading the charge with new tablet devices; the carrier recently began selling the Dell Streak 7 tablet stateside, a tablet running Android v.2.2.
