cloud1 Intel aim to bring cloud computing back into touch with user requirements at laptopshop.co.ukA director at Intel has warned other cloud computing platform developers that they are out of touch with the needs of consumers.

Because of this, Intel feel that their Cloud Builders platform will fill the gap in the market left by less user friendly platforms.

Intel’s Cloud Builders programme hopes to bring cloud computing developers together on one platform, as well as aiding with the development and testing of new cloud systems. With Cloud Builder, Intel are also seeking to gain feedback on the real world applications of cloud technology, and how effectively current cloud platforms are delivering these applications.

Billy Cox, director of the Cloud Builder initiative believes that this customer-orientated approach will put them at the forefront of cloud technology developers:

“We did reference architectures, but nobody ever used them”, Cox said, referring to the failure of overarching blueprints at actually delivering customer requirements. “The general reason was that their environments were so customised and so complex that they were built to order.”

Cox continued; “We backed up and said what are the usage requirements?” We’re not framing them as storage or security, we’re framing them as what would a customer actually want to do?”

Intel believe that this approach marks a step forward in cloud computing, helping it become relevant and useful to worldwide tech users.
