Wish you had some great hotel deals in the palm of your hand? Now you do - literally - with HotelTonight, a new booking app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

Last-minute deals at some of Amercia's top hotels are available on the new mobile-exclusive hotel booking app. Founded by seasoned travellers, Sam Shank and Jared Simon, HotelTonight can be used to book a bargain deal on a last-minute hotel, as late as 2am. Great if the big V Day has slipped your mind (hint, it's on Monday).

Shank says, "With HotelTonight's ease of use and convenience, we plan to turbo-charge the growth of last-second, mobile hotel bookings," he added.

Each day, HotelTonight suggests three of its top deals for hotels that night, ranging from trendy to luxury to cheap and cheerful. Currently, it covers more than 70 hotels in New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and plans to roll out to cities worldwide soon.

Users can check out a range of transport tips, late-night eating options and mobile-optimised photos of the hotel to check it's the right one for them. They'll also receive a credit when they first download the app, which can then be put towards the cost of the hotel room.
