Huawei to showcase Ideos S7 tablet at the Mobile World Congress, along with a new smartphone
Chinese tech company, Huawei are preparing to launch their Ideos S7 tablet at this week’s Mobile World Congress event, alongside the Ideos X3; a new smartphone.
Both devices will run Google’s Android OS, although the company have not yet specified which versions of the operating system will feature on each device. Some tech bloggers are reporting that the S7 will run the new Google Honeycomb OS, although others are less optimistic. It is expected that the X3 will run Android 2.2 – also known as Froyo.
The S7 is a 7-inch tablet, expected to pack a 1GHz MSM8250 Snapdragon processor, USB ports, a front facing camera and a nifty little kickstand on the back. Further information will undoubtedly be released when the device is previewed at MWC.
The S7 will be available in a classic black and white finish, while the X3 smartphone will be available in the rather more varied hues of black, red, blue or silver.
The Mobile World Congress is billed as the “must-attend annual gathering of the mobile industry” and attracts 50,000 senior mobile leaders from 200 countries. 2011’s event is held in Barcelona, Spain between the 14th and 17th of February.
