'Leaked Nvidia Tegra 2 roadmap' /Bright Side of NewsNvidia Tegra 2 3D processors will reportedly be getting unveiled next month – indicating 3D tablets could be in the shops by the end of 2011.

The first of the processors designed to work with 3D screens will be reportedly launched by the end of June, according to a leaked slide circulating the internet.

The slide, first published by Bright Side of News, is allegedly part of a presentation Nvidia will be making at the Mobile World Congress in February.

It says that the company will start its move into mobile 3D devices with a 1.2GHz Tegra 2 processor based on the ARM dual Cortex A9 architecture.

The processors are being developed so that one version will be optimised for smartphones and another will be made for tablets.

Industry pundits believe the Tegra 2 3D chip will work with a Master Image TN-LCD display using individual cells to create a 3D effect.

While the news is going to add to the hype around tablets dominating mobile computing in 2011, it’s also adding a new dimension to the mania with 3D displays likely to be featuring on some of the original devices.

Nobody knows which tablets will be packing 3D technology but it’s rumoured the LG Optimus Pad and LG-G Slate will feature it.
